His
first programme was held at Booker Reception Hall, Colombo on
Saturday, 13th February 2010. Around 70 medical students from
Colombo, Ragama and Ruhunu University attended the programme.
He delivered his lecture on the topic of ‘Islamic Perspective
in Medical Ethics’.
The same programme was held in Kandy Queens Hotel on the following
Sunday. Approximately 75 students from the Peradeniy and Rajarata
University participated in the lecture.
Further, he met some Muslim scholars in the country and discussed
the WAMY’s services for the society. And, he agreed to extend
the work plan to upgrade the education system in the Island.
Also, he participated
in some orphans’ medical camps which is run by Orphan Unit
of WAMY island wide. Dr. Basil individually met all the staff
and discussed with them.
WAMY’s Deputy Directors As-sheikh H.L.M. Haris and As-sheikh
M.U.M. Rizwan made all arrangements to make his visit successful.
